Fans have recognised the background as the Althorp Estate gardens, leading many to assume that the photograph was taken before the family visited Princess Diana’s resting place on the estate. This assumption comes as Harry and Archie are also carrying flowers, which they could have been taken to put down at Diana’s grave. This has resulted in many criticising the 44-year-old Duchess for sharing the moment.
One person wrote on X: “She has no shame or respect. And Harry is no different. Diana’s family should be appalled.”
Someone else commented: “You have to admit, this is pretty sickening. The holiday pictures are fine, but to take photos of the children carrying flowers on their way to lay them at Diana’s grave, is not something that should be shared with the public like a fun day out. It’s ghoulish.”
Another person said: “I’m actually shocked she’d post this. That’s a new low.”
Someone else added: “I’m sure we’ll see it all soon enough on Netflix.”
This was reportedly due to security concerns. Meghan, Archie and Lilibet made no public appearances and weren’t seen publicly on their trip to the UK.
