Meghan Markle ‘upset’ Princess Kate with 1 insult in heated argument | Royal | News

In his memoir, Spare, Prince Harry reveals that his wife, Meghan Markle, offended Princess Catherine in a heated argument. He claims Princess Catherine had recently given birth when Meghan upset her. Meghan allegedly told Princess Catherine, that she must have “baby brain”, during a phone call in the run-up to the Sussexes’ wedding in 2018.

Recalling the conversation, Catherine is said to have told Meghan: “We’re not close enough for you to talk about my hormones”. Harry alleges that Meghan apologised but William “pointed a finger” at her, saying: “Well, it’s rude, Meghan. These things are not done here,” to which she responded: “If you don’t mind, keep your finger out of my face.”

Meghan Markle and Catherine are reportedly no longer on talking terms; it seems that this has not always been the case for the royal sisters-in-law.

Since Harry and Meghan stepped back from their lives as senior royals in 2020, and relationships between the couple and William and Catherine have been damaged.

Once dubbed the “fab four”, Harry and William went from being close brothers to estranged – partly as a result of the release of Harry’s book Spare. But relationships were already partly damaged before this.

Princess Catherine and Meghan had some form of argument in the lead-up to the wedding, with Meghan claiming that the Princess of Wales was unhappy with the fit of the bridesmaid dress on her daughter, Princess Charlotte.

This reportedly caused a big argument between the pair, which was later resolved when the dress was altered.

However, while this first argument may have marked the start of tension between the pair, it seems that things were not always this way.

Sitting down for their engagement interview in 2017 at their home, Nottingham Cottage, on the Kensington Palace estate, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were quick to praise Harry’s brother and sister-in-law and how they welcomed the duchess into the family.

Harry told the interviewer: “William was longing to meet her, and so was Catherine. So, you know, being our neighbours, we managed to get that in a couple of – well, quite a few times now, and Catherine has been absolutely…”

Meghan then finished his sentence with a sweet but telling three-word remark. She said: “She’s been wonderful.”
