Morrisons issues ‘do not eat’ warning for popular product | UK | News

Morrisons has issued a recall notice for one of its popular sharing products after it was discovered that some packs contain milk, which is not mentioned on the label. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced on Saturday (June 27) in its product recall notice that some packs of Morrisons Maple & Bacon Back of the Net may have been packed with the wrong product, which contains milk.

The affected product is the 140g Morrisons Maple & Bacon Back of the Net, which has a best-before date of August 22, 2026. “This product contains milk making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents,” the FSA said. “Morrisons is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”

It attached a customer notice from Morrisons, which reads: “Morrisons is recalling product dated 22/08/26 as some packs may contain the wrong product, which contains milk that is not declared on the label.

“Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need receipt. No other products are affected by this issue.

“We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”

Morrisons’ Maple & Bacon Back of the Net is a popular, football-themed corn and rice snack. They have a sweet and savoury, smoky maple-bacon flavour, and their distinct net-like shape is a playful nod to the football net.
