Nationwide issues £300 update to millions of members | Personal Finance | Finance

Nationwide has announced an ‘up to £300’ update for its millions of members across the UK.

The world’s largest building society confirmed today, Tuesday, that it is “expanding the ways customers can manage their money” as it unveiled a new partnership.

Nationwide is joining forces with PayPoint so that members can make cash deposits at more than 3,000 locations across the UK, in addition to its 605 branches.

Customers can now pay cash directly into their Nationwide account at participating PayPoint stores, many of which are open early until late and seven days a week.

Members can deposit up to £300 per day, with funds appearing in their account within minutes, providing greater flexibility for those who depend on cash as part of their day-to-day banking.

Nationwide said that the new service “furthers its commitment to give customers choice in how they bank and access cash”.

This follows Nationwide’s pledge to keep all 605 of its branches open until at least 2030. The building society is now the UK’s largest single-brand network, following widespread branch closures by banks in recent years.

Stephen Noakes, Director of Retail at Nationwide, said: “We’re pleased to partner with PayPoint to give our customers even more choice in how they manage their money. This service is a valuable addition to our branches.

“Our leading commitment to the high street and to keeping branches open until at least 2030 remains unchanged, and this partnership helps us serve customers and communities in new and convenient ways.”

The collaboration expands on a range of services already available throughout Nationwide’s branch network, including support options such as including dementia clinics (recently extended to Virgin Money branches) and Safe Spaces for those fleeing domestic abuse, alongside standard everyday banking facilities.

Customers can locate their nearest PayPoint outlet through the Nationwide website or app.
