Nationwide Building Society has clarified its account access rules. The update came after a request from a customer who was unable to view some details for their account
The person contacted the building society over social media as they wanted to view some statements. They said they were trying to view statements from 2020 in the Nationwide app but they were not able to search for them.
Nationwide responded to provide some guidance on the matter. The group said: “You can view and download current account, savings and credit card statements from the last 36 months through your internet banking or your app.”
The provider also provided some advice should you need older statements. The mutual said: “For anything older than 36 months please start a chat on your banking app, or through your internet banking. You can also call us on 03457 302011.”
Guidance for app users
Guidance on the Nationwide website explains that you can view a mini statement in the app, as well as viewing and downloading statements for your current account, savings account or credit card.
Nationwide also recently provided an update about plans to expand its branch services. The savings giant will be rolling out more dementia clinics, introducing the service at some of its Virgin Money branches.
Nationwide already offers the service at more than 230 Nationwide branches, with plans announced for trial clinics at 12 Virgin Money branches. These trials will take place from May.
Free support
The free clinics offer support to any person who is affected by the condition. You don’t have to be a Nationwide member to arrange an appointment.
The clinics are run by Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses. You book a 45-minute slot with one of the nurses, where you can discuss a range of issues.
You can talk about questions such as how to get a diagnosis, understanding symptoms of the illness, and practical advice for carers. You can have the appointment in person or over the phone.
