Newly released images from the latest Enola Holmes film on Netflix have left fans eagerly anticipating a major plot twist.
The streaming giant has unveiled the very first glimpse at the newest entry in the Enola Holmes film franchise.
Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown reprises her role in the titular part of this distinctive reimagining of the beloved Sherlock Holmes stories.
Both previous films in the series have been warmly received, with the 2020 original scoring an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, while the 2022 sequel surpassed it with an even stronger 93% rating.
The third instalment therefore faces a considerably lofty bar to clear for both critics and devoted fans.

The films are themselves adapted from the young adult detective novel series by American author Nancy Springer, entitled The Enola Holmes Mysteries. Each book features Enola Holmes as the 14 year old sister of the already celebrated Sherlock Holmes.
The series draws upon characters and settings from the established Sherlock Holmes canon created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, while largely offering a fresh reimagining of the source material.
Netflix‘s synopsis for the third film reveals that adventure pursues detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional ambitions collide on a case more complex and perilous than any she has previously encountered, when the film arrives on July 1.
Adolescence creator Jack Thorne returns to write the screenplay once more, while Brown is accompanied in the cast by former Superman and The Witcher star Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, alongside Himesh Patel as Dr Watson, Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes and House of Guinness star Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury , reports the Mirror.

According to Brown, Enola “feels much more defined but still evolving. She’s built something for herself, which is amazing, but she’s also questioning what she wants next. I think that’s something so many people can relate to. There’s this pressure of, ‘Ok, I’ve achieved this…but who am I now?'”
She adds: “I’ve grown up alongside her, so exploring those themes felt really personal. It’s about balancing independence with love, ambition with vulnerability, and figuring out what parts of yourself you want to hold onto versus what you’re ready to let change. That felt really honest to play.”
Fresh images from the film unveiled depict a sunlit new setting, Enola managing her prospective marriage to Lord Tewkesbury and being compelled to flee a lethal-looking blaze. Nevertheless, one photograph of Enola dressed in what appears to be a wedding gown has captured the interest of numerous fans.
As one person states: “Millie Bobby Brown in a wedding dress for Enola Holmes 3 is the plot twist we didn’t know we needed. Can’t wait for the chaos.”
Another agreed: “Finally some good news today Enola in a veil though? The chaos this girl is about to cause in that dress… I’m seated.” While another predicted: “That wedding veil shot has me so curious, I guess this is a fake wedding for a case, doubt it’s a real deal.”
