Liam Rosenior has been sacked by Chelsea following their defeat to Brighton. The news arrived on Wednesday as the Blues endure historically bad form after failing to score a goal in five consecutive defeats.
Rosenior scarcely lasted three months after Stamford Bridge, after he arrived from fellow BlueCo club Strasbourg to replace Enzo Maresca. The Italian coach parted ways with the west London side on New Year’s Day.
Chelsea sit in seventh in the Premier League and are now scrambling to qualify for European football, having once looked a strong contender for the Champions League. The Blues have confirmed that Calum McFarlane will take charge of the club until the end of the season.
It will be the second time this term McFarlane has been placed in charge after he stepped in before Rosenior was appointed in January. He did not win a match during his two games in the hot seat.
