Prince Harry’s podcast appearance this week has divided opinion, but one brand expert said he thinks it has “humanised” the royal more than ever before. The Duke of Sussex appeared in the Monday episode of Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast, taking many royal fans by surprise.
Speaking exclusively to The Daily Express, brand and culture expert Nick Ede said: “Harry’s humour, whether joking about being ‘sunset auburn’, introducing himself simply as ‘H’, or making light-hearted comments about someone’s hands, makes him feel much more approachable.
“The podcast hosts have helped to humanise him which is truly refreshing .”
Ede continued: “This is exactly the sort of appearance Prince Harry needed. He has so often been seen through the lens of legal battles, family tensions and serious interviews, but here we saw a far more natural, relaxed and genuinely funny side of him.
“It reminded people of the Prince Harry many connected with years ago, someone warm, self-deprecating, and able to laugh at himself which is what Meghan saw in him too.”
Harry spent most of his time in Britain solo, with Meghan and the children having flown to the UK later on in the week for private family time. They were supposed to be in the UK for longer, however the plans changed when it emerged the family would not get armed police protection.
