Prince Harry’s bombshell interview was 1 year ago – he’s learnt nothing | Royal | News

It’s been a year since Prince Harry hurled another bombshell at the Royal Family. No, I’m not talking about the Oprah Winfrey 2021 interview. No, I’m not talking about the Netflix docuseries or his memoir either.

In true Harry fashion, he spoke critically about the Royal Family, claiming his father wouldn’t speak to him. He also claimed that his security had only been downgraded in 2020 in an effort to keep him working for the Firm, which then led him to make comments accusing certain people of not wanting him, his wife and his children to feel safe.

Instead of learning to let things go or at least handle them privately, Harry has shown just last month that he doesn’t actually know when to stop talking.

He also hasn’t learnt that criticising royal life is getting him nowhere. In fact, it’s driving him further away from reconciling with his family, which he has said time and time again he so desperately wants.

In a speech in Australia in April, Harry claimed he never wanted his royal role, and even went as far as to say that it was royal life that “killed” his mother Princess Diana, who died after a Paris car crash in 1997.

The duke said: “After my mum died just before my 13th birthday – I was like: ‘I don’t want this job. I don’t want this role – wherever this is headed, I don’t like it.’

“It killed my mum and I was very much against it, and I stuck my head in the sand for years and years.”

This certainty does not make life as a royal look good. It also sounds critical of the Firm in which his entire family is a part of, just like he did one year ago in the BBC interview.

Harry, Harry, Harry… when will you learn that criticising the royal firm is not going to get you anywhere. The reconciliation you say you want? Well, if you keep criticising everything and anything to do with your royal relatives, you can wave any chances of being close with them again goodbye.
