Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are believed to be returning to the UK alongside their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to be attending the one-year-to-go events for the Invictus Games in Birmingham between July 10 and July 17, 2026.
Prince William – who according to reports at the weekend, is struggling with his father, King Charles’s olive branch to the Sussexes. It has been claimed the Prince of Wales believes his father is making a “misjudgment” by trying rebuild a relationship with Harry and offer him a royal residence for this UK trip. However, the claims of a disagreement between William and Charles is denied by Buckingham Palace.
TalkTV presenter Mark Dolan addressed the Sussexes UK return and claimed it was a “slap in the face to the British people” after they stepped down as senior royals in 2020. He commented, “They will be staying in a royal palace when they come to the UK in July.”
Show guest and royal biographer Angela Levin addressed Prince William‘s reaction to the news of their impending arrival.
The presenter queried: “What do you think William will make of this? Because William used to be close with his brother. How do you think he will feel about the King [Charles] being so generrous?”
In a devastating blow, Angela claimed William would not be entirely pleased with the news.
“I think William will be horrified and furious,” she remarked.
She went on: “He won’t go anywhere near him, I believe, and he won’t let Catherine go anywhere near him.”
Prince Harry and Meghan could potentially stay in Althorp House during their stay in the UK, it has been claimed.
The ancestral home of Harry’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, is only an hour’s drive away from Birmingham.
According to Hello! magazine, the residence has been offered to Harry and Meghan, but the couple have not yet decided whether to stay there.
It has not been confirmed if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will receive taxpayer-funded security during their stay.
