The former couple, who officially divorced in 2021, tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in May 2008 – which later became the wedding venue for both Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie. Although many of his royal relatives were in attendance, William didn’t attend Peter and Autumn’s nupitals.
The reason behind William’s no-show is because he attended a friend’s wedding in Africa instead.
William’s absence was explained at the time, with a senior royal source stating: “Prince William is going to be out of the country this weekend on a long-standing prior engagement.”
It has been reported that William is keen to make amends with his cousin due to his prior absence – with Catherine and William gearing up to celebrate Peter and Harriet’s special day tomorrow.
Although William didn’t attend Peter’s first wedding, Catherine attended on her own.
Peter managed to infuriate his late grandmother and other members of his family when he secured a staggering £500k deal for photographs of his reception.
The scandal reportedly led the late Queen to ban senior members of the Royal Family from appearing in celebrity magazine photo deals.
The deal, which was with HELLO! magazine, saw a 100-page special with 59 pages of photographs from the wedding being released. The late Queen featured in 10 of the pictures.
