Princess Kate inspired subtle detail in Olivia Henson’s wedding planning | Royal | News

The Princess of Wales is said to have inspired one subtle detail in Olivia Henson’s wedding planning, it has been reported.

Olivia, 31, tied the knot with the Duke of Westminster in a lavish ceremony in Chester on Friday, June 7.

Stunning guests in a vintage-style silk wedding gown, the account manager wore a dress by British designer Emma Victoria Payne.

As well as sporting a dress with a two-metre train and hand appliquéd embroidery, the bride sported the Fabergé Myrtle Leaf Tiara – one typically worn by Grosvenor brides.

Olivia’s hair was reportedly inspired by Princess Kate and styled by Richard Ward Hair’s Artistic Director, Cristiano Basciu – a firm favourite salon for Kate.

As well as Kate, the royal-approved salon is also a firm favourite for the Duchess of Edinburgh.

Taking to Instagram, Richard and his wife Hellen wrote: “We are immensely proud of our exceptionally talented Artistic Director, Cristiano, for his incredible work creating the stunning hairstyles for the wedding of the Duke of Westminster and Olivia Henson.

“His outstanding work, featured in renowned publications such as British Vogue, Tatler, and many others, showcase his artistic ability.

“Cristiano’s attention to detail and creative vision have once again set a new standard in bridal hairstyling, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate his achievements. Richard & Hellen Xx”.

Speaking in 2023, Richard told MailOnline how he creates Princess Kate’s signature look of “loose curls”.

He said: “Soft, loose curls are handy for outdoor engagements because they hold up well against the weather if it takes a windy turn.

“If you’re being blown about a bit they will just look beachy and natural as they brush against your face, which can be very flattering.”

Although Princess Kate was absent on Friday, Prince William attended the Duke and Olivia’s wedding.

The Prince of Wales beamed as he arrived in Chester to attend the most highly anticipated society wedding of the year.

Princess Eugenie was also pictured arriving at the Cathedral, while the groom himself arrived shortly before 11.30am.

Although he was reportedly invited, Prince Harry – who is known to be close to the Duke – didn’t attend the nuptials.
