Royal Family LIVE: Quiet update ‘spells disaster for Meghan and Harry’ | Royal | News

Prince William quietly made a major update to his future intentions as King this month as it’s predicted he will take a “harder line” with Meghan and Harry when his ascends to the throne. The Prince of Wales, 43, announced he is selling off a fifth of the Duchy of Cornwall, the vast £1billion estate he inherited when Charles became King in 2022.

William’s move to use the 10-year sale to fund £500 in investment in housing in nature could spark alarm bells for his younger brother and spouse, who have been living in California after quitting as working royals in 2021. Sources claims Harry was “always envious” of his older brother’s inheritance of the Duchy and could the fact William has sold some of it off could show he will be more dramatic in his dealings with the Sussexes.

Despite his decision to leave Britain, King Charles has always allowed some leeway to his youngest son Harry. The 41-year-old remains a Counsellor of State, meaning he could technically stand-in for the King if the Monarch falls ill.

But speaking to the Mail Online’s Diary Editor Richard Eden, a friend of William’s circle predicted “William will take a much harder line with Harry and Meghan when he’s king”. The pal did not spell out what it could mean for Harry, but Mr Eden said whatever action he takes could be dramatic, like the quiet selling off of a large chunk of an ancient royal estate.
