The episode was filmed during Meghan and Prince Harry’s week-long trip to Australia in April, when the couple carried out charitable and commercial engagements across Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. On Sunday’s episode of MasterChef Australia, Meghan looked elegant in a black long-sleeve silk shirt by Australian brand Matteau (£394), and she paired it with Camilla and Marc’s high corset midi skirt, also in black. (£500) She completed the look with Manolo Blahnik’s BB 105 high heels in black suede (£695) and pearl drop earrings, bringing the total for her outfit to £1,589.
Some royal fans appeared to love Meghan’s look; others were not so keen on her wearing all black.
One user said on WhatMeghanWore’s Instagram fashion page: “Love love love this elegant look.”
A second user added: “She’s exceptionally elegant!!”
A third one added: “I love how her style is so clean now. Minimalistic chic, love it.”
A fourth one chimed: “Always fabulous, always on point!”
But another one opined: “I was hoping she would wear something other than all black. To be honest, the dresses that the other ladies are wearing are more interesting.”
A second user commented on X: “She looks like Morticia Addams of the Addams Family.”
A third one said: “Markle looks like she’s attending a funeral.”
Another one added: “She looks like Elvira (laughing face emoji).”
During her trip Down Under earlier this year, the duchess told Australian Women’s Weekly: “I love being able to wear local designers and celebrate the craftsmanship that’s happening in whatever region I’m travelling to.”
