Royal fans were delighted after they caught a glimpse of Duchess Sophie this week. The Duchess of Edinburgh headed to Stockbridge, Hampshire, to visit farmers at the Leckford Estate ahead of Linking Environment And Farming (LEAF) Open Farm Sunday on June 7.
Sophie became LEAF’s honorary president in 2016. The charity promotes sustainable agriculture, a subject the royal is hugely passionate about. On Thursday, she visited the site to check the preparation ahead of the big event, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Open Farm Sunday has given over 3.5million people the opportunity to visit working farms, meet the people who produce their food and learn more about the vital role farming plays in the environment, the economy and rural communities.
Sophie joined the LEAF team at the farm, helping set up a haybale maze and hanging welcome banners around the site.
She looked chic in casual attire consisting of khaki trousers, flat espadrilles, a patterned blouse and a beige blazer.
Royal fans were jubilant to see the Duchess and rushed to their social media to praise her.
One user wrote on X: “The Duchess does amazing work promoting this cause and food production.”
Another one added: “Duchess Sophie swaps the Palace for the farmyard.”
A third user opined: “She looks so relatable and down to earth. From her smile to her casual, yet professional outfit!”
A fourth one said: “Looking very lovely! I love her in these rural engagements.”
