Russia warns ‘crackpot Trump could nuke Iran’ as WW3 fears explode | World | News

Russian propagandists have warned “crackpot” Donald Trump could launch a nuclear strike on Iran as they revel in the chaos caused by the conflict.

During a TV show hosted by pro-Kremlin Vladimir Solovyov, a member of the Russian Duma (Russian Parliament) said he was worried Mr Trump could hit Iran with a nuclear bomb. Semyon Bagdasarov said: “I am not a big expert in Israeli domestic politics, but their opposition is openly criticising Netanyahu, screaming that he led the country to a dead end, that he does not possess strategic thinking, that he’s very dangerous and so on, that they are on the brink of carrying out a nuclear strike against Iran. No one can guarantee that they won’t.”

After his words, Solovyov echoed “no one can guarantee they won’t carry out a nuclear strike against Iran,” before Bagdasarov could add: “According to Trump’s circles, he is a crackpot, God only know what’s going on in his head.”

Russian state media previously mocked Mr Trump over the Iran war, branding his campaign a “political failure” and insisting there are “no grounds at all” for him to claim victory.

Last month, as fighting in the Middle East entered its sixth week, Kremlin-backed newspapers portrayed the conflict as a disaster for the US President, despite soaring oil prices giving Russia hope of an economic boost.

Russian newspapers brutally mocked “arrogant” Donald Trump and even made a veiled swipe at his “feverish” mental state. The country’s media do not agree with the US President’s claims of “total victory” over Iran, BBC Steve Rosenberg said, analysing the content of Russian newspapers last week.

“Trump has escaped from the trap of his own making. But only the feverish mind of the American himself can consider this a triumphant victory,” one of the newspapers reported.
