Princess Eugenie is gearing up to welcome her third child any day now, with the royal and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, undoubtedly excited to welcome their new addition to the family.
Although the 36-year-old is set become a mum for the third time, the state of her relationship with her parents is something that is likely playing on her mind. It was previously reported that Eugenie had cut ties with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with her current relationship with Sarah Ferguson remains unknown.
With Sarah known to be a doting grandmother, the heartbreaking prospect of not being in her new grandchild’s life is something that one royal expert has discussed – with Eugenie’s birth on the horizon.
Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror: “We do know that Fergie has been a doting grandmother in the past to her four little grandchildren, and I’m sure she would be heartbroken if she were excluded from this wonderful new episode in Eugenie and Jack’s life.
“But it’s going to be up to her daughter, who lives much of her life in Portugal these days.”
She also shared that she thinks Eugenie and Jack may release a picture of their newest bundle of joy – but that some members of the family will likely not be included.
She added: “I think the couple will issue a photo of the new arrival in the fullness of time, but I certainly don’t expect to see either Andrew or Sarah included in that photo.”
Eugenie’s third pregnancy was revealed back in early May, with a statement revealing exactly what the King thought of his niece’s exciting news.
As well as revealing that the baby would be born this summer, it also discussed her two young sons, August, five, and Ernest, three, were “excited” for a new sibling.
The statement read: “His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”
