Five fire engines are currently at the scene and 30 properties have been evacuated. No injuries have been reported.

An update from the fire service reads: “We still have five fire engines on scene at the gas leak on Tevery Close, Stapleford. We’re now joined by Nottinghamshire Police, Environment Agency and Cadent who are helping us resolve the incident.

“Around 30 properties have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. No injuries have been reported.

“There has been some speculation on social media around this being an explosion – we can confirm that this is a gas leak, and all agencies at the scene are working hard to resolve it as effectively and efficiently as possible.

“We ask that people continue to avoid the area – thank you.”
