A man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting at a traveller site in Calcutt near Cricklade on Sunday, police said. Shane Porter, 35, of Calcutt Park, Calcutt, has been charged with the murder of Jimmy Ward, aged 36, Wiltshire Police said in a statement this evening. Porter was also charged with possession of a shotgun without a certificate, police added.
He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear via video link at magistrates’ court tomorrow morning, August 6. Eddie Porter, 74, and Tammy Brown, 42, both of Luton, have both been charged with assisting an offender and possession of a shotgun without a certificate, the force also said.
They have also been remanded into custody and are due to appear via video link at court tomorrow.
Two other men arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail.
