Tottenham’s transfer window business appears far from finished, with the club now pursuing Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi as their latest potential acquisition.
Tottenham will face stiff competition for his services, though, with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain also expressing interest.
Bournemouth are expected to resist selling one of their prized assets, with the club reportedly demanding a fee of at least £80million for the 20-year-old. Yet Spurs have already demonstrated their willingness to spend heavily this transfer window as they attempt to avoid repeating last season’s disappointments.
The France U21 international netted 13 goals in 33 Premier League outings for Bournemouth last term. His contract at the Vitality Stadium runs until 2030.
While Junior Kroupi tops the wishlist, AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Man City’s Savinho have also emerged as alternative options. Spurs may additionally seek a central striker to provide back-up for Richarlison and Dominic Solanke.
Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford. The 23-year-old is currently Stateside as part of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup.
Spurs have already secured the signings of Martin Dubravka, Marco Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke, along with Fernandes, during the current transfer window.
The north London club are pursuing players capable of making an immediate impression in the Premier League, with Roberto De Zerbi keen to wrap up deals swiftly so his new arrivals can feature during pre-season training.
Speaking following confirmation of his move, Fernandes revealed that De Zerbi played a pivotal role in his choice to sign for the club, despite attracting interest from Manchester United.
“I’m very excited for this next step. Tottenham is a massive club and the head coach was a key part of why I have decided to join,” he said.
“When we spoke it was very special. We look at football in the same way – going onto the pitch as a strong team, with fight and energy, to try and win every game.”
