Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd medical, Arsenal’s Rogers bid, Chelsea offer rejected | Football | Sport

Sunderland have reportedly been left unhappy with Chelsea’s bid for Granit Xhaka.

The Blues agreed personal terms with the midfielder, with Xhaka keen on the move.

However, according to The Daily Mail, the opening bid of £8million was considered ‘insulting’ by the Sunderland transfer chiefs.

Xhaka joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen last summer for a reported £13m.

The 33-year-old was a key player for Sunderland as they stunned the Premier League by qualifying for the Europa League upon their return to the top flight.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Xhaka is expected to continue.

The midfield anchor is currently in North America preparing for Switzerland’s knockout clash against Algeria.
