A shocking new “blood for blood” mural depicting President Donald Trump, Melania, and other family members lying in coffins was unveiled in central Tehran on Thursday.
The mural, which reflects the escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran, is the most personal in a series of state-produced murals targeting the U.S. president, set against the backdrop of the White House in Palestine Square.
The latest artwork carries the motto “Blood for Blood” and openly threatens Trump’s family with retribution for bombings that claimed the lives of senior Iranian officials. A separate billboard threatening President Trump’s life also appeared in Tehran’s Vali-e-Asr Square on the same day.
“Who’s Next?” was emblazoned on that particular Trump billboard, which emerged following the death of Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. The name of the recently deceased senator is also displayed beneath the billboard.
Iran Wire reports that the Owj Arts and Media Organisation erected some of the largest billboards in the region at Vali-e-Asr Square. According to the outlet, Owj has been backing the policies of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for years.
Since negotiations with the U.S. commenced, the group has repeatedly displayed billboards condemning the peace process while supporting the Islamic Republic’s regional, nuclear, and missile policies. The organisation had previously unveiled a banner that directly threatened Trump’s life.
The previous billboard featured an image of the president alongside the words “We will kill Trump” in both Persian and English. It was erected in Tehran’s Enghelab Square.
The positioning of billboards in the squares comes as Trump has claimed that Iran would attempt to assassinate him.
One of the most recent Iranian billboards depicts the U.S. president within what looks like a concrete-barrier coffin, with graffiti at the base showing slogans including “we kill Trump.”
The display appeared after the U.S. reimposed a naval blockade on Iran and intensified its airstrike campaign on Wednesday, measures implemented in response to Tehran’s attacks on vessels traversing the Strait of Hormuz.
Its emergence also follows reports that the president had drafted instructions detailing how authorities should react if he were murdered. According to the president, the suspected plot was revealed to him via intelligence supplied by Israel.
The Wall Street Journal revealed the startling discovery on Thursday. According to sources with knowledge of the matter, Israel possesses evidence of a fresh Iranian plot to assassinate Trump.
The day prior to the report’s publication, during the NATO meeting in Ankara, Turkey, Trump alluded to the new intelligence.
The New York Post was told by Trump that he left instructions for the U.S.
