Meghan Markle is tipped to face a major family change as her estranged father, Thomas, is eyeing up another marriage at 81. Sources close to the Markle family revealed that he has fallen in love with Filipino nurse Rio Caneda, 46, and is “happier than he could ever have imagined”.
The two met at a rehab hospital in the Philippines after Mr Markle’s amputation last December. It would be his third marriage, after his 1964 marriage to Roslyn Loveless and his 1987 marriage to Doria Ragland, the Duchess of Sussex’s mother. A source told the Daily Express: “Thomas told me he’d marry her in a heartbeat and he’s telling the rest of the family he’s happier than he could ever have imagined at the thought of spending the rest of his life with Rio.”
The source did not specify whether Mr Markle would marry in the US or back in the Philippines, where he has said he “loves” living and is “enjoying life.”
