The flavours are finalists in Walkers’ “Do Us A Flavour” competition, in which customers submit their dream crisp ideas.

After working through thousands of entries, Walkers has chosen Salt & Pepper Chicken and Grilled Cheese & Chilli Jam to hit supermarket shelves later this summer.

The Salt & Pepper Chicken flavour is inspired by the Chinese takeaway favourite, offering the combination of garlic, spring onion, black pepper and aromatic spices.

The Grilled Cheese & Chilli Jam flavour, on the other hand, combines the taste of melted cheese with a sweet-and-spicy chilli jam.

Both limited-edition flavours will be stocked alongside classics such as Cheese & Onion and Prawn Cocktail.

Every pack sold counts as a vote, meaning shoppers will decide which of the two flavours receives a permeant spot on the shelves.

The creator of the winning flavour could pocket up to £500,000.

Wayne Newton, Senior Marketing Director of Walkers Snacks at PepsiCo, said: “From thousands of entries to just two finalists, it’s been an incredible journey, and now it’s over to the nation.

“We can’t wait to see which flavour captures Britons’ hearts and earns its place as the next permanent addition to the Walkers family.”

Walkers has also brought back “cracking” crisp flavours that fans requested.

The Daily Express reported in May that Walkers was launching three new flavours this summer as part of a partnership with FIFA for the World Cup 2026.

The flavours are inspired by several countries taking part in the global football competition.

New flavours include Walkers English Bangers & Mash, Walkers Wavy Spanish Queso and Walkers Max Portuguese Chorizo and Onion.

The World Cup-related flavours are all limited-editions and will be available until August 7.
