Meghan Markle is set to celebrate her 45th birthday next week, a special time of celebration, gratitude, but also one of reflection, in which you can look back on the year gone by, particularly your younger ones, and for the Duchess of Sussex, it will likely bring many fond childhood memories, which actually involved her going by a different name.
While Rachel was her name in her younger years, the duchess has always been known as Meghan Markle has been in the public eye throughout her life.
She has never explained the reason for this, but it is believed she may have chosen to be called Meghan Markle instead, as it is more recognisable because of the alliteration.
This is not something Meghan has ever confirmed.
It is believed that Meghan has also always been referred to by this name rather than Rachel when it comes to her husband, Prince Harry, whom she has been married to for eight years.
Although Harry, 41, may call her Meghan, he usually refers to her by simply “M” – a nickname he is believed to have had for her since their early dating days.
Like Meghan, Harry also was not called the name he uses now at birth, something royal fans may have forgotten.
It is believed Meghan has never used the name Henry with her husband, and instead commonly refers to him as “H”.
