Flight 719 was travelling from Rome to Philadelphia on July 25, when six out of the nine flight attendants started to feel dizzy.
It has been reported that this was due to a “reported odour onboard caused by an oven.”
Although the exact nature of the smell has not been disclosed.
Due to the illnesses the pilots diverted the Boeing 787, which was carrying 281 passengers, to Dublin, Ireland.

An American Airlines spokesperson told The Post: “Paramedics met the aircraft at the gate out of an abundance of caution and the flight attendants and one customer were evaluated and subsequently released.”
Travellers heading to Philadelphia were booked hotel accomodation for no extra cost and rebooked on to flights the next day.
The spokesperson added: “We appreciate the understanding of our customers and thank our team members for their professionalism.”
However, this is not the first time the issue of an odour has caused disruption on board an American Airlines flight.
In June a smell coming from the cockpit caused a flight ftom New York to Philadelphia to be diverted to Syracuse as two pilots were “nauseated”.
