A man is due to appear in court charged with the murder of a baby in 2020. Niall Worsfold, 29, has been charged with the murder of his son, who was just one month old at the time, following an incident at an address in Leeds.
He has also been charged with one count of child cruelty. The baby was rushed to hospital on July 4, 2020, from Lincombe Drive, Gledhow, and sadly died on July 10.
A 25-year-old woman was also arrested as part of the investigation by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, but has since been released with no further action.
West Yorkshire Police said in a July 8 statement: “A man is due to appear in court charged with the murder of a baby in Leeds in 2020.
“Niall Worsfold, 29, of Farrow Road, Leeds, has been charged with the murder of his baby boy who was one-month-old at the time.
“The baby died in hospital on 10 July 2020 after being admitted on 4 July 2020 from an address in Lincombe Drive, Gledhow.
“Worsfold has also been charged with one count of child cruelty. He has been remanded to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court tomorrow.
“A 25-year-old woman, who was arrested as part of the investigation by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, has now been released with no further action.”
