Donald Trump launches brutal attack on Keir Starmer in furious rant – ‘Absolutely crazy!’ | UK | News

Donald Trump has launched another attack on Sir Keir Starmer over the UK’s reluctance to drill in the North Sea. The US President took to Truth Social to unleash his latest outburst, claiming: “Aberdeen should be booming!”

He claimed Norway “sells its oil to the UK at double the price” and that they are “making a fortune”. Trump urged the UK to “DRILL, BABY DRILL” before describing the reluctance to do so as “absolutely crazy”.

The US President wrote on Truth Social: “Europe is desperate for Energy, and yet the United Kingdom refuses to open North Sea Oil, one of the greatest fields in the World. Tragic!!! Aberdeen should be booming. Norway sells its North Sea Oil to the U.K. at double the price. They are making a fortune. U.K., which is better situated on the North Sea for purposes of energy than Norway, should, DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! It is absolutely crazy that they don’t… AND, NO MORE WINDMILLS! President DJT.”

However, he warned that by 2030, forecasts suggest that it could plunge to just 100 fields left in operation, with the UK’s gas import dependency standing 70%.

He warned: “This is a perilous state of affairs for our energy security, economic opportunity and for communities in Scotland and across the UK.

“It is a position that both the Conservative Party and Labour Party bear responsibility for.”

Trump’s latest attack against the UK comes with the US President continuing to be furious with Sir Keir Starmer and NATO as a whole for not helping the US with its war on Iran.

The US President claimed the Prime Minister took “far too long” to change his mind about the use of the UK-US Diego Garcia base. Sir Keir had announced that US forces would be allowed to operate from British bases against Iran, but only in a limited role targeting missile sites.

Mr Trump told the Daily Telegraph: “That’s probably never happened between our countries before. It sounds like he was worried about the legality. But no, we were very disappointed in Keir.” Referring to Sir Keir’s change of position, he added: “It is useful. It took far too much time. Far too much time.”

He told reporters outside the UK: “They have a long way to go. The UK has a long way to go … We don’t want another Neville Chamberlain, do we agree? We don’t want Neville Chamberlain.”
