Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been blindsided as Princess Eugenie and Beatrice “suck up” to Prince William, it is claimed.
During a royal episode of the Daily Expresso podcast, host JJ Anisiobi claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were “very annoyed” with the York sisters following their apparent return to the royal fold.
Speaking to TalkTV star Mark Dolan, JJ said: “Harry and Meghan have spent hours upon hours on the phone to them consoling them, giving them advice and offering them a place to stay in the US. Now, they’re peed off, because they see Princess Eugenie and Beatrice sucking up to William.”
He added: “I can’t blame the cousins; they’re trying to secure their future and stay close to the future king. But Harry and Meghan are very annoyed that they are sucking up to William after everything they’ve done for them.”
Mr Dolan responded with scepticism about the Sussexes’ intentions towards the York sisters.
Questioning their motives, he said: “Even when they do something nice, such as embrace and welcome Beatrice and Eugenie, I’m thinking, what’s the ulterior motive? It could be that they are being nice, but because of their past history, you have to question everything they do.
“Were they being troublemakers by consoling Beatrice and Eugenie?”
The comments come after reports suggested Harry and Meghan had offered support to the York sisters, as they faced increased scrutiny due to the ongoing fallout from their father Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s close ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
But reports have suggested the sisters may be enjoying a closer relationship with senior members of the Royal Family once again.
Recent photographs showed Prince William warmly greeting Princess Beatrice at the wedding of Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, fuelling speculation that the York sisters are back in the royal fold – a move that allegedly stung the Sussexes.
“Seeing them quite literally kiss up to William after all the hours they’ve spent counselling them on how to handle this threat of eviction he’s been banging over them was very disturbing for Harry and Meghan,” an insider told Heatworld.
