Meghan Markle is said to have spent just two hours with fans despite be promised a whopping “£130k fee” for her major appearance. The 44-year-old stepped out at the Her Best Life at the InterContinental in beachside Coogee earlier today.
After just 120 minutes at the gala, which was dubbed “Megstock” due to its guest of honour, the former working royal was spotted departing the venue with her husband shortly after 7pm, with the couple then led away in the back of a luxury Range Rover.
Excited attendees arrived at the venue arouns 3pm, with the official start time scheduled for 5pm.
In the presence of guests, some of whom had paid up to £2,000, Meghan took to the stage at the gala dinner.
The former working royal then spoke of her “very hard” life in the public eye, claiming she has been “attacked” ever since marrying Prince Harry in 2018.
As well as discussing the downsides of her life over the past decade, Meghan spoke of some “amazing moments” – which included marrying Harry and welcoming their children, Prince Archie, six, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Harry’s attendance prior to the event was unknown, but he proudly sat in the audience as his wife took to the stage.
The 41-year-old reportedly gave his wife a standing ovation as she arrived in the room.
Meghan also spoke of their children on stage, crediting Archie and Lilibet as her “inspiration”.
