POLL: Should King Charles meet Prince Harry during his US trip? | Royal | News

King Charles and Queen Camilla are visiting the US on the first British state visit to the country since Queen Elizabeth II in 2007 – but should they visit Prince Harry whilst they are in the country?

“The state visit of King Charles and Queen Camilla is of pivotal importance with Anglo-American relations at a low ebb,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital.

He added: “It is also about the shared history of the two countries over 250 years. It will emphasise, as such occasions do, the mutual sacrifice in war, the enriching cultural links, and what the world’s most powerful nation and Britain do have in common, which means they have special links.”

It is understood that the royal couple will not be meeting the King’s son, the Duke of Sussex, and his wife, Meghan Markle, during the trip. The couple, who are no longer working royals, now live in California, and sources suggest neither Prince Harry nor Meghan will meet the monarch.

But do you think the Montecito-based royals should reunite with the King and Queen during their time in the US?

There have also been calls for the King and Queen to meet survivors of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during their visit.

It is understood, however, the King will not hold a meeting because of concerns about potentially jeopardising the ongoing legal processes and police investigations.

After leaving the US, the King and Camilla will pay a visit to Bermuda, where he is also head of state. It will be his first royal visit as monarch to a British overseas territory, before returning to the UK.
