Royal pictured for first time after undergoing major surgery | Royal | News

The sweet photograph showed the princess curled up next to Crown Prince Haakon as they watched the Norwegian national team win against Brazil in the 2026 World Cup. The couple watched the match on TV from the Royal Palace, wearing their Norwegian scarves. The room had Norwegian flags up behind it.

Another photograph showed the pair looking out of the window, presumably at celebrations taking place outside.

It is not known when she was discharged, with the royal having been kept in the hospital for a few weeks as part of the recovery process.

This is believed to be common procedure following such a major operation.

Sharing these new photographs on their official Instagram page, the Norwegian Royal House wrote: “The whole family followed the match with great excitement: the King and Queen from Mågerø, the Crown Prince and Princess from the Royal Palace, and Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus from the stadium in the United States.

“Congratulations to the national team, the coaching staff, and all of Norway for this extraordinary achievement!”

Norway won 2-1 against Brazil on Sunday.

They will next play England on July 11 in the FIFA World Cup Quarter-finals.
