Trump leaves crowd speechless with ‘disgusting’ sex joke – ‘He’s a lunatic’ | World | News

Donald Trump has sparked fury after making a sex joke during his speech at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday.

The US President said that a senator he knows got a text message from his wife, who he claims said, “when you get home, I want you to immediately come up the stairs and make love to me, and he said, ‘I can’t do both.'”

His joke was met with complete silence by the journalists, and he went on: “Can’t get up on the stairs and make love,” Trump emphasised as he made a face. “Does anybody get that?”

“That was the only thing I thought was good in this whole frickin’ stupid speech they wrote,” he then added.

“That was the only good one, and that went down with not exactly great laughter,” he also said. The joke was also met with criticism on social media, where people labelled it ‘disgusting’.

The President’s joke brought back the ageing concerns of American senators and congressmen in light, the Mirror US explained.

The death of Senator Lindsey Graham, aged 71, and the prolonged absence of the 84-year-old Senator Mitch McConnell, have once again brought the Congress age debate to the surface, the newspaper went on to say, adding the 119th Congress is among the oldest in U.S. history, but it is not the oldest by median age.

The 118th, which had a Senate median age of 65.3 years from 2023 to 2025. The current Senate is unusually old, with a median age of 64.7 years, reflecting a broader trend of lawmakers serving well into their 70s and 80s, the Mirror US also said.

The Correspondents’ Dinner finally went ahead months after the gathering was plunged into chaos when a gunman opened fire outside the ballroom, sparking a mass evacuation.

The event took place at the Waldorf Astoria hotel. The original dinner was abandoned after a security breach. That time, Mr Trump was last seen being whisked away by security officials after gunshots were fired at the dinner.

The US President was rushed to safety after about half a dozen shots were fired in the Washington Hilton where hundreds had gathered for the annual White House Correspondents’ dinner.
