Most of us enjoy exploring somewhere a little out of the ordinary when we head off on holiday, and it’s safe to say that very few of us will have had the chance to bask in the sunshine on a pink beach.

However, one travel influencer has shared his experience of visiting a pink ‘beach’ in China. Denis, known as @denis_ttravel, regularly posts reels of his travel escapades to his 2,000 followers on Instagram. In one of his most recent uploads, he spoke at length about visiting the ‘secret’ pink beach, which he claimed “almost no one knows about”.

Footage in the video showed Denis lounging on a pink sun lounger on the pink sand before making his way to a Pink Beach Bar and swinging on a swing that’s… you guessed it – pink.

In the caption, Denis wrote: “[The pink beach] is located in the city of Sanya on the territory of Hyatt Regency Sanya Tianli Bay.

“This isn’t exactly a typical beach, but more like an artificial photo zone away from the sea, created for striking shots and atmospheric pictures.

“Still, it looks incredibly beautiful, and you’ve probably never seen anything like it before.”

He added: “Entry is free even if you’re not staying at the hotel. No requests or explanations needed, just come in and enjoy.”

The post proved a tremendous hit with audiences, amassing more than 21,000 likes.

One user wrote: “Hyatt Regency Hotel Sanya is amazing.”

While another commented: “So beautiful.”

A third chimed in: “Urge to take my daughter there.”

The ‘beach’ at Hyatt Regency Sanya Tianli Bay is an artificial, “Barbie-style” installation created exclusively for photography purposes.

Everything within this space is decorated in pink, including the sand, sun loungers, parasols, and even a pink refreshment kiosk. It produces a “doll-like” or “Barbie Land” ambience that has become extremely fashionable for social media photographs.

The sand is not naturally pink; its rosy shade derives from light-reflecting particles blended with crushed coral.

While it serves as an excellent location for posing and swings, it functions primarily as a photography area rather than a conventional swimming beach. The hotel additionally features a standard private natural beach in close proximity for more typical seaside pursuits.

Tips for visiting

Aviation views: Due to the hotel’s position just 15 minutes from Sanya Phoenix International Airport, visitors can frequently photograph aircraft flying low directly above.

Best timing: The pink shade appears most striking under gentle, natural light. A visit during the late afternoon (approximately 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM) is strongly advised for optimal photographs.

Location: It is positioned in the Tianya District, handily near to other significant attractions such as the Tianya Haijiao (“End of the Earth”) park

Cost: Access to the hotel premises to experience the pink beach is complimentary for all visitors.

Getting there: Visitors can board Bus 125 or Bus 25 from the city centre, or arrange a taxi for roughly 50–70 RMB (£6-8)
