Shocking CCTV footage shows woman dump bloodied dog at kennels | UK | News

Shocking CCTV footage caught a woman abandoning a dying puppy outside a kennel. The RSPCA have launched a public appeal to find the woman after the four-month-old lurcher-cross, called Hobi, tragically passed away.

The bloodied dog was left for dead outside Woodhaven Kennels in South Milford, near Leeds, at around 7pm on Thursday, May 7. Hobi was rushed to the vets but sadly died from dehydration, a head injury and blood coming from one ear. He did not have a microchip but still had his baby teeth which allowed vets to determine he was just a few months old. The RSPCA believe the pup could have suffered the injuries on the day he was dumped at the kennel.

The pictures show the mystery woman, who was dressed in all black, carrying Hobi before dumping him outside the kennel. After she left, another woman arrived in a grey saloon car and asked what had happened to the dog.

The second woman, who was wearing a pink top, said the dog belonged to a friend but did not provide their details. The RSPCA is now working to track down the owner and are urging the public for relevant information.

RSPCA Inspector Joanne Taylor, who is investigating, said: “His cognitive awareness deteriorated significantly post admission, which the vet said could indicate a recent or same day injury due to brain bleeding. However, the head injury could also have been an older issue.”

She added: “It’s an extremely sad and upsetting incident and we’re very keen to speak to the individual as we believe she may hold vital information which could support our enquiries.”
